Summer Fun Camp Counselor
Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region has been inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold in the
Capital Region for more than 80 years. We provide FREE after-school programs for all girls K-12.
We also provide a six week summer camp at both or our locations. At Girls Inc, we establish an
environment that is girls-only, physically and emotionally safe, where there is a sisterhood of
support, high expectations, and mutual respect.
Girls Inc. GCR is looking for multiple seasonal candidates to join our summer camp team! Each
camp counselor helps to provide research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age-appropriate
programming that meets the needs of today’s girls.
These positions are available at both the Girls Inc. Schenectady Site and Girls Inc. Albany
Site. Camp is held at our Schenectady location. We are looking for 2 counselors to supervise
campers as they are transported from Albany to our Schenectady location, and then back to
Albany.

Start Date: Immediately
Seasonal, July 8 th - August 16 th , 5 days a week, Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00pm. Three
additional days of training in June, dates tbd.
Supervise campers such that they are protected from any unreasonable risk to their
health or safety, including physical or sexual abuse or any public health hazard.
Maintain visual or verbal communications capabilities with campers during activities and
account for assigned camper's whereabouts at all times.
Plan and facilitate activities based on the theme of the week.
Experience working with children and valid driver’s license preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
